Become a Mentor

Your Experience Could Help Shape a Girl’s Future

Mentorship is an important part of Katia’s Kloset Foundation’s approach to supporting girls through education, personal development, and opportunity.

Our mentors bring professional experience, knowledge, encouragement, and different perspectives that can help girls think beyond the classroom and develop a clearer vision for their future.

You do not need to have all the answers. Sometimes, sharing what you have learned, asking the right questions, and encouraging a young girl to believe in her potential can make a meaningful difference.

Access to education is important, but girls can also benefit from having people around them who encourage them, share experience, and help them think about what comes next.

Through mentorship, girls can gain access to perspectives that extend beyond the classroom. A mentor can help a girl reflect on her strengths, explore possibilities, ask questions, and make more informed decisions about her education and future.

The goal is not to tell a girl what her future should look like. It is to help her see more possibilities for herself.

WHAT MENTORS BRING

Experience, Perspective, and Encouragement

Mentors can contribute in different ways depending on their background, experience, and the needs of the girls supported by the Foundation.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Share knowledge from your career, education, or professional journey and help girls understand possibilities they may not have considered.

GUIDANCE

Offer thoughtful questions, perspective, and encouragement as girls navigate their educational and personal development.

PERSONAL EXAMPLE

Share lessons from your own journey, including experiences that shaped how you approach education, work, leadership, and life.

ENCOURAGEMENT

Help girls recognize their strengths, stay motivated, and develop greater confidence in their ability to pursue their goals.

A MENTORING RELATIONSHIP
Support the Journey, Not Just the Goal

Mentorship is about more than giving advice. It is about creating a positive connection in which a girl can ask questions, reflect on her experiences, and learn from someone who is willing to share time and perspective.

Depending on the Foundation’s program structure and the needs of each beneficiary, mentoring may involve conversations about education, personal development, professional interests, goal setting, and future possibilities.

The relationship should be encouraging, respectful, and centered on the girl’s development and goals.

A mentor does not have to define the path. A mentor can help a girl see that more than one path is possible.
